We’re excited to launch a new video series on our blog today! Each month, we’ll take pressing public relations and communications questions. These topics will focus on what we’re hearing from clients and colleagues, and what we think are the most pressing PR issues. This month we kick off the series by tackling an important subject: whether a project, announcement, or story idea is really news. There are lots of important developments at businesses and organizations every day. But just because something seems significant internally doesn’t necessarily make it news. How can you tell the difference? In this post, Mike and I provide three tips when determining if something is newsworthy and likely to grab a reporter’s attention.
Watch the video and let us know your thoughts! And don’t forget to stay tuned for next month’s video, which will address how to position a story as part of a larger evergreen issue.
